Last weekend, from Friday 19-21 I went to Gatlinburg with a Youth Group. If you guys don't know, Gatlinburg is located in East Tennessee, near Knoxville, and on the Smoky Mountain if I'm not mistaken. It was so much fun! The events were fun, there were Illusionist, his name is Jared Hall, comedian named Bob Smiley (he wasn't really funny to me but at least his jokes about Cheerleader were so true that they made me laughed so hard), and the others whom I don't remember the names, and last but not least is Shawn who was a participant in a TV show named 'Biggest Loser' (it's about obese people trying to lose incredible amount of weight, and it's an amazing show). I had such a good time with my friends, they were so nice and so curious about Indonesia, unlike my friends in Hillsboro(they don't even care that I'm exchange student). And the most surprising thing was I met with my mom's work friend! She was really kind and after we talked for a while she suddenly gave me $40 for me and my friends to have fun. So i think on Saturday afternoon me and 10th graders went to the top of one of the Smoky Mountains by a 'Sky Lift', the view was really snowy and pretty! I printed the picture that was taken on the Lift. And after that I did 'Alpine Slide', it was like a sleding with a sled equipment that has a stick so we can control the speed, and we sled on a track, not on the snow itself. It was great! On Sunday I left home, the journey on the Bus was fun, I chatted with my friends and slept a lot. The most interesting part was when I called my dad in Indonesia by accident the he unexpectedly called me back, so we talked through the phone in the Bus with my friends watching me speaking in Indonesian. They were so amazed, I was so happy! Ha ha.

By the way, when I arrived home I was so dead tired but I still needed to pack because the next day I was going to Kentucky for my AP Human Geo field trip. I packed until 9 and I slept until 6 and ate breakfast and took off to school! I was so excited for the field trip, because I was going to see Archbishop Desmond Tutu(He is a nobel peace prize winner because he fought against Apartheid in South Africa)'s speech! Can u believe that? So we left school around 7 and we arrived at 10. The trip wasn't bad at all. It was a very amazing trip actually! We only paid $20, but we got Lunch, Dinner, and breakfast for free in the Murray State College's cafeteria, and the food was good. We got a tour around the campus, it was freezing cold but we still had to write notes although our fingers were so numb. That wa riddiculous. But at least the tour guide who is the college student was very cute, so that refreshed me a little bit. Ha ha. I'm just joking. After that we had a session about Murray State University, a college that hosted us for the night, and they talked about how to get in, how good MSU is, etc. They talked about Study Abroad too, which was very interesting. It made me think about going abroad again for college. To Canada or Australia, probably. Well, I don't think my parents would allow me though, i think they will say they still miss me. Ha ha.

Finally it's time for us to take a rest! But, suddenly Mr. Sawyer, our teacher said Archbishop Desmond Tutu called and said that he wanted to meet us personally so we ran to the building where he was and we took a picture with him! I really respect him because when I saw him he was so down to earth, had a great sense of humor, he was so polite, he had a great personality! Last but not least his speech was the greatest speech I've ever heard. I didn't understand the whole speech because he has a very strong accent, but whenever I could catch what he was saying, what he was saying was always has great meaning, touching, smart, so full of humanity. My favorite quote was, "My humanity is bond in your humanity. We can only be human by learning how to be human from others." I've never thought about that before. Anyway, both of the trips that I got to go were awesome! I'm so lucky that I could go. Thanks God for giving me that chance! I appreciate it!
